Once you have met the certification requirements, and you have submitted your completed application, you will be required to take the certification exam. The PMP examination is a four-hour computer based training exam that is made up 200 multiple-choice questions. Of these questions, 25 are “pretest” questions that will not count against you on the exam, though they are not identified on the exam as such. The exam covers six main sections: initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing and finally professionalism and social responsibility.
